Frequently Asked Questions

What's included?

Included at the per person rate:

• Private hut rental for your group. Our huts are heated and insulated.  Bench seats are equipped with foam padded cushions.

• Propane fuel to run the heater for the day.

Is transportation included?

• Yes. Included in your rental is transportation to the hut in the morning, and back to shore in the afternoon (15 minutes each way).
  Our sleigh is fully enclosed, insulated and equipped with full-length seating cushions, to ensure a comfortable ride.

Is there a washroom available?

• Yes. Your rental includes access to our on-ice washroom facilities.

Do I need any ice fishing experience to participate?

• Not at all! We can provide equipment, lures and live bait. We'll even show you proven techniques. For a more in-depth learning experience, spend the day fishing with one of our professional fishing guides - we offer fully-guided experiences, at our per person rate, plus $395 per hut.

Do you have any fishing equipment available to rent?

• Yes. Fishing rod rental is $15 each. Tip-Up rental is $10 each. We will include some lures and tackle for you to use for the day.

Do you sell live bait?

• Yes. We have live Emerald Shiners available to our guests to purchase.

If I make a booking on a certain date, is it possible to reschedule it?

• Absolutely! We offer rescheduling at no charge. We ask that you provide at least one week notice. Please see our Cancellation Policy below for more information.

Do I need to sign anything or fill our any forms?

• All participants must fill out and sign our  Rental Agreement and our Waiver. Both are one-page documents. Please see our Ice Hut Rental Agreement and Waiver and Release of Liability (available upon request).

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation by the Customer:

• Cancellations Made 7 Days or More Before Booking Date: Full refund minus a processing fee of $50, or the option to reschedule with a voucher issued.

• Cancellations Made Less Than 7 Days Before Booking Date: No refund, but a voucher will be issued for the full amount of the rental fee.

Rescheduling with Voucher: Instead of canceling, customers have the option to reschedule their reservation. A voucher will be issued for the full amount of the rental fee, which can be used for a future booking. The voucher will expire at the end of the season on March 15th, or earlier, as determined by Long Shoal Ice Fishing Inc. in its sole-discretion.

Cancellation by Long Shoal Ice Fishing Inc.: If the rental must be canceled due to severe weather or poor ice conditions, as determined only by our staff, customers will have the option to reschedule and be issued a voucher for future use.
